Regional arts fund renewed for another round in the bush
A CASH splash for the arts is set to spread $4 million around Queensland, and the southwest will receive a $232,000 slice of the pie.
The money comes from the latest round of the Regional Arts Development Fund, announced by the state government last week.
"This investment will support hundreds of arts experiences and professional development opportunities across the state,” Arts Minister Leanne Enoch said.
Locally, the RADF has brought unique opportun- ities to rural creatives.
"Having the RADF meant we could bring a photography tutor to our region, and help our members move the next level,” Injune Photography Group spokeswoman Debbie Duff said.
"The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we expect to see many more exhibitions, and entries in the local shows.
"The RADF funding helps to keep workshops affordable and accessible.”
Under the fund, councils will receive:
Balonne Shire - $23,000
Blackall-Tambo Regional - $50,000
Bulloo Shire - $36,000
Maranoa Regional - $30,000
Murweh Shire - $23,000
Paroo Shire - $40,000
Quilpie Shire - $30,000
Applications for the 2019-20 RADF will open in February 2020.
